ADDITIONALLY, COULD TWO HUMANS, WHO DID NOT KNOW THAT THEY WERE NAKED, POSSIBLY COMPREHEND THE CONSEQUENCES OF EATING THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT AND COMPREHEND THE CONCEPT OF DEATH?

How could they not know they were naked? What man who was introduced to a Perfect, beautiful, naked woman, with no cable TV or internet, not figure out in a few minutes what to do with that woman? The story is made that way to make an excuse for all the suffering the children of Adam and Eve have had to experience. They "Inherited Sin"Can we really believe that months or years passed before Adam figured out what to do with Eve? Did it really take a bite of a fruit to realize where what went in where? -

Take the Kingdom back to Mexico!
by John Aquila inif donald trump wins the presidency, about 90% of the jws in my area will have to go back to mexico.
the watchtower will be having a fire sale on kingdom halls.
if trump became president and he followed through on his policy of sending back undocumented immigrants, would that affect the jws publisher numbers big time in the united states?

Chances of Trump becoming POTUS are approximately the same as chances of Anthony Morris exhibiting humility.
I'm not sure about that, his numbers are up regardless of all the crazy things he has said, he is number one on the Republican side in all the polls and still climbing. There is no other candidate that seems to interest the people. And we are living in a country that elected Regan, Bush, and almost Sarah Palin. And over one million people in the U.S. believe the Governing Body of the Watchtower is God's Channel. So who's to say what can happen? Would it really surprise us?

i feel more confused than ever
by BlackWolf inwell i know i've been posting a lot of topics like this lately and i'm sorry if i sound whiny or annoying.
my parents were asking me why i was so upset lately and i ended up just telling them the whole truth.
i told them i don't believe in god or the bible because i don't have any evidence of anything.

I don't know what to do. I could live my whole life being a jw even though I hate it and possibly live forever or I could live my life doing what I love and possibly be killed at armeggedon. What should I do?? Should I believe what parents say or what the so called "apostates" think? All of my old fears are returning and I feel so doomed
Don't do anything, what's the hurry? And don't be confrontational with your parents, why add wood to the fire? Keep quite and under the radar while you do research and sort things out. It will take a while. Took me almost two years to sort everything out.

Twelve-hundred sixty years from A. D. 539 brings us to 1799-another proof that 1799 definitely marks the beginning of “the time of the end”. (The Harp of God, p. 230)
The time of the end” embraces a period from A. D. 1799, as above indicated, to the time of the complete overthrow of Satan’s empire and the establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah.
(Revelation 11:2) . . .and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. Or 1260
(Revelation 11:3) . . .a thousand two hundred and sixty days . . .1260
The Watchtower always uses flimsy math to con the ignorant. And to top it off it is basic math.

Life after the witnesses, friends, faith etc
by Theburstbubble inhi everyone, this is my first post so go easy on me :) i have been a witness all of my life (i'm 37) and truly believed it until 3 years ago.
my husband and i had become spiritually weak and over time i began to question more and more until i came to the conclusion that the witnesses were not the true religion but just one of many religions and that if god is there then there are many paths to get to him.
anyway, i've battled with keeping going as my husband still believed and i didn't want to be in a divided household as we have a young daughter and thought it would be very confusing for her (and us).

Welcome!
How have people adapted to life outside the truth? Making friends? Have you found your new friends to be as genuine? How about faith? I feel like I still want to believe in God but don't know even where to begin.
Life goes on regardless. You will find that people that are not JWs also come in varieties. Some are genuine and some are untrustworthy. Just like the Kingdom-Hall. So you pick and choose who you want in your circle.
As far as God is concerned, you have returned to humanity's point of view. No one has or ever had all the answers to the God question. It just that the Watchtower made you believe they had all the answers but in reality they never did.
If there is a God and he is almighty, just, loving, and merciful, you shouldn't have to worry about judgement. If there is no God or he doesn't care, then you shouldn't have to worry either because once we're gone we won't know a thing. So enjoy your life and your family, that's the best thing. Isn't that what the Bible teaches.
(Ecclesiastes 3:12, 13) . . .I have come to know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good during one’s life; and also that every man should eat and indeed drink and see good for all his hard work.. . .

You may want to bring up the fact that there were 3 different 1914 teachings throughout the history of the Watchtower.
- From late 19th century to early 20th century they taught that 1799 was the beginning of the end and the world would end by 1914. No earthquakes or pestilence Matthew 24 was supposed to have been fulfilled during the 1800 year period after Christ. Armageddon was a 40 year period of social collapse between 1874 and 1914. It was to be a slow motion collapse throughout that period culminating in pure social chaos at the end. No earthquake or fireballs etc.1914 was to be the beginning of the Millennium and the beginning of world wide peace.

We have the convention this weekend and many JW families are arriving. One family that I’ve known for many years from New Mexico stopped by to visit my mom. He’s been an elder since the 80s. After the visit, I accompanied them to their vehicle and my mom stayed in the house. Before anyone got inside their vehicles, he shut everyone up and asked me,
“When are you coming back? You’re missing some great spiritual food in this time of the end.” The way he said it, I could tell he was trying to impress his family.
I don’t like confrontations anymore and I try very hard to avoid talking to JWs but I couldn’t help it. I asked him in front of everyone,
“Time of the End, come on, it’s been over 100 years since 1914. You know that Jerusalem wasn’t destroyed in 607-- right? I mean that information is everywhere. Bible Scholars, Bible translators, Archaeologist, Historians, every encyclopedia, every reference book, even your own Watchtower publications teach that 587 BC is the actual date that Jerusalem was destroyed.
He replies, “Well even if everyone is right and the date is 587, that still doesn’t affect the fact that we are living in the last days.
I said, “What do you mean it doesn’t affect you?” If Jerusalem wasn’t destroyed in 607, that means 1914 never happened, it means Jesus never started ruling in 1914, it means Satan wasn’t thrown to the earth in 1914, it means that the last days never started in 1914, and that means we are not living in the last days.
Everyone kept quiet. They didn’t realize the implications of what I was saying. Everyone just kept staring at me and the elder. Finally the elder said, “Well, I’ll have to look into that” I said, “It’s up to you, I mean, I really don’t care if you look it up or don’t. It’s your life, and if you want to go and sit down for three days to listen to the same information you get at the Kingdom Hall, for the next 20 years, that’s your choice.
But I’ve done the research; it took me over a year because it was very hard for me to accept the truth of the matter. It not something you can learn in a couple of hours like studying a Watchtower magazine. It takes lots of time because you can’t believe it at first. It was a shock to me. But then you start seeing all the evidence. There is about 5,000 archaeological business records, legal documents, astronomical diaries, from different parts of the world that name the neo-Babylon kings and how long each one reigned.
The 2011 Watchtower study says you can’t trust these historical records but then they turn around and use these same historical records that they condemned- to prove the year 539 BC. How creepy is that?
And that’s why I’m not going anymore and I’m not worried that I’m going to die at Armageddon because I know we are not living in the last days.
Now I’m not trying to convince you of anything, you asked me a question and I answered it. I’m not asking you to research anything, I’m not telling you the Watchtower is false, I’m just telling Why I’m not going to conventions and meetings anymore. If you decide to research 607, don’t call me. There is plenty of information in any reference book. If you want to know where 607 came from you can read the whole story in a book called, “The Gentile Times Reconsidered” It’s actually free in the internet if you don’t want to buy it.
You should have seen everyone’s eyes.
I said bye and walked away.
BTW these people know the Elder that had sex with an 8 year old girl in Los Lunas New Mexico.
He is still free.
